What does half-fold mean?
A half-fold is a single fold down the centre of the sheet, creating four panels: front cover, back cover and two inside pages. It is sometimes called a bi-fold. This is the most straightforward folded leaflet and reads much like a small folder.
How is a half-fold different from a Z-fold?
A half-fold has one fold and four wider panels, giving you spacious pages. A Z-fold has two folds and three narrower panels that zig-zag. Choose half-fold when you want fewer, larger pages for readable text; choose Z-fold for a compact, sectioned layout.
What is a half-fold good for?
It works well for event programmes, order of service, restaurant menus, price lists and short product guides. The clear cover plus roomy inside spread suits any message that needs a bit more space than a flat flyer but does not require a full booklet.
How should I set up my four panels?
Design as a front and back on one side of the sheet and two inside pages on the other. Keep important content around 5mm from the fold and trim, and add 3mm bleed. Your free digital proof confirms the panels are in the right order.
