How does a roll-fold work?
The panels fold inward in the same direction, one tucking behind the next, so the sheet rolls up on itself. When you open it, the panels unfold in order. This gives a smooth, sequential reveal rather than the back-and-forth of a Z-fold.
Why are the roll-fold panels different widths?
The inner panels are made slightly narrower so they can tuck inside the outer ones without buckling when the leaflet is closed. This is standard for roll-folds. Your artwork should account for it, and your free digital proof shows the exact panel sizes.
When should I choose roll-fold over Z-fold?
Choose roll-fold when your content flows as a sequence or story and you want a page-by-page reveal. A Z-fold suits content split into three equal, independent sections. Roll-folds also carry more panels comfortably for detailed guides and brochures.
