Presswift Guarantee

If we get it wrong, we put it right

Our promise

Every order is printed to the proof you approve and the specification you choose. If what arrives does not match them, or is damaged or short, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we reprint the affected copies or, where a reprint is not practical, refund them.

Nothing goes to press until you approve the proof, and that approval is the part of the guarantee you hold: it confirms the wording, images, layout and trim are right. We hold the rest: the print you receive will match what you approved, on the paper and finish you ordered, and it will arrive intact and in full.

What the guarantee covers

Print faults

Marks, scratches, banding, misregistration, missing or misordered pages, faulty binding or finishing, or a job produced on a different paper, size or finish from the one you ordered.

Our errors

The print does not match the proof you approved: we cropped, scaled, imposed, folded or finished it differently from the approved file.

Damage in transit

Corners, creases, scuffs or water damage caused on the way to you. Keep the packaging: the carrier claim needs a photo of it.

Shortages and non-delivery

Fewer copies than you ordered (we make up the shortfall or credit it), or a parcel that never arrives.

What it does not cover

Print is a made-to-order product, and the trade works to published tolerances. These are the things a reprint or refund is not available for.

Anything in the approved proof

Spelling, dates, prices, images, layout, orientation, page order and what sits in the bleed or outside the safe area are yours to check before you approve. We print exactly what is approved, so an error carried through from the proof is not a print fault.

Artwork that does not meet our specifications

Low-resolution images, missing bleed, RGB or spot colours converted at press, missing fonts or the wrong page size. Our pre-flight checks flag what they can; the file remains your responsibility.

Artwork printed as supplied

When our check flags a problem and you choose to print as supplied rather than fix the file or book an artwork service, anything cropped by the trim, printed soft from a low-resolution image or shifted by a re-fit is accepted, not a print fault.

Colour within trade tolerance

Screens show RGB and print is CMYK, so colour on screen, and between different screens, differs from the printed piece and can vary slightly between print runs. Reasonable variation is accepted print-trade practice and is not a defect. If colour is critical, ask us for a printed sample before the run; it is priced per job.

Trim within tolerance

Trimming has a tolerance of up to 2 mm, and fold, crease and perforation positions are indicative.

Your paper, finish and size choices

The stock, weight, lamination, foil or size you selected when ordering, and the way those choices change how colours and images look.

Change of mind

Every job is made to your artwork and cannot be resold, so we cannot take a return because it is no longer needed, the quantity was wrong or a date has moved.

Damage after delivery, or copies that have been used

Wear, storage damage, or copies that have already been distributed, mailed or displayed.

Our artwork specifications and digital proofing guide explain how to check a proof before you approve it.

How to make a claim

  1. Email support@presswift.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number.
  2. Send photos that show the fault clearly, a photo of the packaging and label if the parcel arrived damaged, and a count of how many copies are affected.
  3. Keep every copy, unused and in its packaging, for 30 days. We may ask for samples, or for the batch to be returned at our cost, before a reprint goes to press.
  4. We reply with a decision within 2 working days. If the job is within tolerance we say so, explain why, and return anything we asked you to send.
  5. Our remedy is a reprint of the affected copies, to the same specification, at no charge. Where only part of the run is affected we replace or credit that part. Where a reprint is not practical, or your deadline has passed and you agree, we refund the affected copies to the original payment method within 7-10 working days.

Conditions

  • Reprints are made to the approved artwork and specification. Corrections to the artwork are a new order.
  • Using the print, or having it reprinted elsewhere without asking us first, ends the claim.
  • A replacement must be accepted unless there is a clear reason it would not resolve the problem.
  • Our liability is limited to the price paid for the affected items, including delivery. We are not liable for consequential loss such as missed events, lost sales or distribution costs.
  • Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The full wording is in section 7 of our terms and conditions.

Customer care

Claims are handled by the people who printed the job, so you get a straight answer, not a ticket number.
