Custom flash cards printed in-house on 300 to 400gsm silk or 350gsm uncoated board, every card a different front and back, cut with rounded corners, collated into sets and banded, priced per set from a single set to a thousand. Choose A7 for pocket vocabulary cards, A6 for revision cards, A5 for a question with a worked answer on the back, or the large 89 x 146 mm card for phonics and first-words sets, then tell us how many cards make a set. Silk board keeps colour sharp; uncoated board takes a pen, for cards learners fill in. Add a single hole punch for a ring or treasury tag, and matt or gloss lamination for a set that gets handled every day.

  • • Available sizes: A7, A6, A5, Large Cards 89mm x 146mm, Custom
  • • Paper options: 300gsm Silk, 350gsm Silk, 350gsm Uncoated, 400gsm Silk
  • • Finishing: Rounded Corners (Small Format), Deck Collation & Banding, Single Hole Punch, Matt Lamination, Gloss Lamination, Digital Proof (Emailed PDF), Custom
  • • Minimum order: 1 unit

Please supply your artwork as a print-ready PDF with 3mm bleed and no crop marks (we add our own). Make sure all colours are CMYK and imagery is 300dpi.

  • • File Format: Print-ready PDF, one card per page, in the order you want each set collated
  • • Fronts and backs: Fronts and backs alternating (front, back, front, back) or all fronts then all backs; say which in the order notes
  • • Bleed: 3 mm on every edge, with text at least 3 mm inside the cut
  • • Hole punch: If you add the hole punch, keep text 10 mm clear of the hole position
  • • Resolution: 300 DPI at the finished size
  • • Colour: CMYK; a Pantone colour prints as its closest CMYK match

Delivered within 3-5 working days of ordering, once your free print preview is approved. That window is the whole job, not just the van: we print, finish and dispatch your order and the tracked carrier delivers it. The clock starts when you approve your free print preview, so approving promptly is the fastest thing you can do.

Choose your delivery speed at checkout. Every parcel is tracked:

  • • Standard delivery: 3-5 working days, free to UK mainland addresses on orders over £50, £5.99 below that
  • • Next-day delivery: next working day when you order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri, priced at checkout
  • • Next-day by 1pm or by 10.30am: next working day, with the courier aiming for the time chosen (a target, not a guarantee), when you order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri, priced at checkout
  • • Saturday delivery: Saturday, for orders approved by 2.30pm on Friday, priced at checkout
  • • Same-day delivery in London: order up to 500 units with print-ready artwork and approve it by 2.30pm Mon–Fri, and a tracked courier delivers the same day. Priced at checkout, including same-day production.

Northern Ireland, the Highlands & Islands, the Isle of Wight, offshore and international addresses are priced live at checkout, as are unusually heavy orders: over 15kg is £14.95 whatever the order value. Flat prints bigger than A4, such as A3 posters or 25 cm stickers, travel in a larger, board-backed pack: paid delivery services carry a packing charge for it, shown at checkout, and free standard delivery stays free. Very large pieces (any side over 120 cm, such as A0 boards) go by courier rather than post, at the courier price shown at checkout for each service. Pieces over 150 cm, or over 100 cm both ways, are beyond the parcel couriers: they travel with a specialist courier at the rate shown at checkout, or we split the artwork into smaller panels for you free of charge. See live delivery prices and times.

Every order is covered by the Presswift Guarantee: printed to the print preview you approve and the specification you choose, or put right. If what arrives is damaged, short or does not match the approved print preview, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, photos of the problem and a count of the affected copies, and keep the copies unused while we look. We reprint the affected copies to the same specification or, where a reprint is not practical, refund them; approved refunds reach your original payment method within 7-10 working days. Read the Presswift Guarantee.

Because every job is printed to your own artwork and specification, we cannot take a return simply because you have changed your mind, and errors carried through the print preview you approved, or colour and trim variation within normal print tolerance, are not print faults. That is what the free print preview is for: check the colours, wording and layout on the print preview and nothing goes to press until you are happy with it.

Which size should I choose?

A7 is pocket-sized and suits vocabulary, times tables and anything learners carry around. A6 is the usual revision card, with room for a question and a short answer. A5 gives room for a worked answer, a diagram or a training prompt. The large 89 x 146 mm card is for early-years and phonics sets, big enough for small hands and a big letter.

Can every card be different, front and back?

Yes. Supply one card per page, fronts and backs alternating or fronts first and backs after, and we collate each set in your page order. A set where every front and every back differs costs the same as a set with one shared back.

Which stock can learners write on?

350gsm uncoated. It has a matt, natural surface with no coating and takes pen and pencil, which is what you want for cards learners fill in or annotate. Silk stocks are coated and keep printed colour sharper, but ballpoint and pencil sit on the surface rather than in it.

Can the cards be hole punched for a ring?

Yes. Add the single hole punch finishing option and one 6 mm hole is punched in the same place on every card, for a binder ring, treasury tag or string. Choose the position on the page or mark it on your artwork; the cards come loose with nothing threaded through.

Should I laminate flash cards?

For a classroom set, a set used every day or cards that travel in a pocket, yes: matt or gloss lamination keeps the surface clean and stops corners softening. For a one-off revision set the plain board is fine. Lamination is not offered on the uncoated stock, because it would seal the surface you chose to write on.

How quickly can I get them?

Standard delivery is 3 to 5 working days once your free print preview is approved, and same-day London courier delivery is available on weekdays when you order and approve before the cut-off.

How much do Flash Cards cost?

Flash Cards start from £14.71 excluding VAT. The price updates live on this page as you choose your size, paper stock and quantity, and the price per unit falls at higher quantities.

What sizes do Flash Cards come in?

Flash Cards are available in 4 sizes: A7, A6, A5 and Large Cards 89mm x 146mm. You can also enter a custom size in millimetres and see the price update instantly.

Which paper stocks can I choose for Flash Cards?

You can print Flash Cards on 300gsm Silk, 350gsm Silk, 350gsm Uncoated and 400gsm Silk. Every stock is listed with its weight so you can balance feel and budget, and the page reprices as you switch.

Can I get Flash Cards delivered the same day?

Yes, on orders of up to 500 items with print-ready artwork. Order Flash Cards, and approve your artwork, by 2.30pm Mon–Fri and a tracked courier delivers them the same day in London. Elsewhere in the UK, standard tracked delivery takes 3-5 working days, with express and next-day options at checkout (next-day: order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri).

How much is delivery for Flash Cards?

Standard tracked delivery is free to UK mainland addresses on orders over £50 (£5.99 below that), and takes 3-5 working days from ordering. Northern Ireland, the Highlands & Islands, the Isle of Wight, offshore and international addresses are priced live at checkout, as are orders over 15kg (£14.95 whatever the order value). Express and next-day services are available at checkout (next-day: order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri), and a courier can deliver in London on the day you order when you order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri.

Do you provide free artwork templates for Flash Cards?

Supply your flash cards artwork as a print-ready PDF with 3mm bleed, CMYK colour and images at 300dpi. Full guidance is in the Artwork Guidelines section on this page, and our free digital proof catches any setup issues before printing.

About Flash Cards

Flash cards are sets of cards with a prompt on the front and the answer on the back: vocabulary and phrases for a language, dates and definitions for an exam, phonics and first words for a classroom, prompts for a training course. We print them in-house, one card per page of your PDF, cut to size with rounded corners, collated into sets in your page order and banded, so every learner gets a complete set.

Choose A7 (74 x 105 mm) for pocket cards, A6 (105 x 148 mm) for the usual revision card, A5 (148 x 210 mm) for a question with a worked answer or a diagram, or the large 89 x 146 mm card for early-years sets. The board is 350gsm silk by default, which keeps colour sharp and stands up to daily handling; 350gsm uncoated takes pen and pencil for cards learners fill in; 400gsm silk is the rigid choice for a classroom set. Add a single hole punch for a ring or treasury tag, and matt or gloss lamination for a set that is used every day.

The price is per set. Tell us how many cards make a set and how many sets you need, from one set for a single learner to hundreds for a school year, and the price per set falls as the run grows. Every order includes a free print preview before anything is printed.
