- Next-day — order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri; priced at checkout
- Same-day in London — up to 500 units with print-ready artwork, order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri; priced at checkout
Plywood Signs are printed straight onto 3mm birch plywood, so the wood grain shows through lighter colours and any white in your artwork is left as bare timber. The finish is natural and matt, which suits rustic wedding signs, cafe menus, market-stall boards and boutique shopfronts better than a glossy plastic panel. Choose A5, A4, A3 or A2, or type your own size in millimetres, then add rounded corners or drilled hanging holes placed with our on-screen picker. Order from one sign to ten. Every board is printed and cut in our Battersea workshop. Plywood is an indoor board, though it will stand outside under cover for a day.

Very large pieces (any side over 120cm, such as A0 boards) go by courier rather than post: £7.95 on Standard, with the faster services at the courier's large-parcel rate, shown at checkout. Every order is covered by the Presswift Guarantee: printed to the proof you approve and the specification you choose, or put right. If what arrives is damaged, short or does not match the approved proof, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, photos of the problem and a count of the affected copies, and keep the copies unused while we look. We reprint the affected copies to the same specification or, where a reprint is not practical, refund them; approved refunds reach your original payment method within 7-10 working days. Read the Presswift Guarantee.
Because every job is printed to your own artwork and specification, we cannot take a return simply because you have changed your mind, and errors carried through the proof you approved, or colour and trim variation within normal print tolerance, are not print faults. That is what the free digital proof is for — check the colours, wording and layout on the proof and nothing goes to press until you are happy with it.
Will the wood grain show through my print?
Yes, wherever the colour is light. Ink goes straight onto the birch with nothing underneath, so whites and pastels let the grain show and dark solids largely cover it. If you want a clean white area, plywood is the wrong board; pick Foamex or Dibond instead.
Can I use a plywood sign outdoors?
Only briefly. Birch ply is an indoor board and will stand outside under cover for a day, which covers most weddings and market stalls. For a sign that lives outside through rain and sun, choose Correx, Foamex or Dibond.
How are the hanging holes positioned?
Choose the Hole finish and a to-scale picker appears. Use a preset (one top-centre, two top corners, four corners, two sides), drag holes where you like, type millimetre positions, or mark them on your artwork. Holes come in 6, 8 or 10mm and sit at least 12mm from the edge.
Can I order a size that is not A5 to A2?
Yes. Type any width and height in millimetres on the product page and the price updates as you go. Because the Zund cutter follows any outline, we can also cut arrows, circles or a shape that matches your artwork; ask when you order.
Is the print double sided?
No, plywood signs are single sided only. If you need both faces printed, for example a hanging sign read from two directions, order two signs and mount them back to back, or ask us which of our other boards print double sided.
Do you check my file before printing?
Yes, a person checks every file for size, bleed and resolution before it reaches the printer. An emailed PDF proof is an optional add-on if you would like to approve the layout first. Bear in mind that screen colours are RGB and print is CMYK, so shades can differ slightly.
How much do Plywood Signs cost?
Plywood Signs start from £18.12 excluding VAT. The price updates live on this page as you choose your size, material and quantity, and the price per unit falls at higher quantities.
What sizes do Plywood Signs come in?
Plywood Signs are available in 4 sizes: A5, A4, A3 and A2. You can also enter a custom size in millimetres and see the price update instantly.
Which materials can I choose for Plywood Signs?
Plywood Signs can be printed on Birch Plywood 3mm. Each option is listed with its thickness or type so you can match durability to the job, and the page reprices as you switch.
Do you offer bulk discounts on Plywood Signs?
Yes. Plywood Signs carry quantity discounts, so the price per unit falls as the run grows. Change the quantity on this page and the discount is applied to the total automatically.
Can I get Plywood Signs delivered the same day?
Yes. Order Plywood Signs, and approve your artwork, by 2.30pm Mon–Fri and a tracked courier delivers them the same day in London. Elsewhere in the UK, standard tracked delivery takes 3-5 working days, with express and next-day options at checkout (next-day: order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri).
How much is delivery for Plywood Signs?
Standard tracked delivery is free to UK mainland addresses on orders over £25 (£2.95 below that), and takes 3-5 working days from ordering. The Highlands & Islands, offshore and international addresses are priced live at checkout, as are orders over 15kg (£14.95 whatever the order value). Express and next-day services are available at checkout (next-day: order and approve your artwork by 2.30pm Mon–Fri), and a courier can deliver in London on the day you order when you order by 2.30pm Mon–Fri.
About Plywood Signs
A plywood sign is a sheet of 3mm birch ply with your design printed directly onto the face. Birch has a pale grain, and because we print onto the raw wood rather than a white base, that grain shows through any lighter colour in the artwork. Solid dark inks sit cleanly on top; pastels, creams and whites pick up the timber beneath. Keep white areas in your file and they print as untouched wood, which is usually exactly the look people want. The surface is a natural matt, without the sheen of a plastic board.
Every sign is printed in our Battersea workshop on a Canon Arizona UV flatbed, which lays UV-cured ink straight onto the ply so the print is scratch-resistant, water-resistant and colourfast. The board then goes to a Zund flatbed cutter, which trims it to size, rounds the corners and drills hanging holes in the same pass. Plywood suits wedding welcome boards, table plans and bar menus, cafe and farm-shop price boards, boutique shop signs and sheltered house names. Treat it as an indoor board: a day outside under cover is fine, a season of weather is not.
Send a print-ready PDF at 300dpi in CMYK with 3mm bleed, and keep text and logos at least 10mm inside the trim. Ask if you would like us to set the artwork for you. Every file is checked by a person before it prints, and an emailed PDF proof is an optional add-on. Screens show RGB and we print CMYK, so colours can shift slightly. London orders placed by the weekday cut-off are delivered the same day; the rest of the UK takes three to five working days.
